A Unique Idea: Tattooing Stretch Marks

You are a creative person, and you love art in all of its forms. You recently noticed that you had some stretch marks, and you really don’t like the idea of having to go through putting on lotions day after day in an effort to conceal them. You have this idea about tatooing stretch marks to disguise them.

The Pros and Cons of Tattooing Stretch Marks

Tattooing stretch marks will be a bit more detailed than the normal tattoo, as that area of the skin is either very thin or very thick. For stretch marks that are very thin, chances are that the tattoo artist will not want to tattoo over those stretch marks, because that could lead to making them worse and not hiding those stretch marks.

Before tattooing stretch marks, consider where those stretch marks are and how big they are. If they are on your torso and are rather large, it is understandable that you would want to get rid of them, but unless you want a large tattoo on your torso anyway, it would be a better idea to not tattoo your stretch marks.

However, if you have just a few small stretch marks in your hip area, and by tattooing stretch marks with a nice little design it would be both attractive and appealing. Be aware, however, that the older you are, the less attractive the tattoo will look if your skin is becoming wrinkly.

If you have a low threshold for pain, perhaps it would not be the best idea to get a tattoo. Remember that the tattooing stretch marks process involves a needle repeatedly injecting ink into the upper layer of your skin. Also, if you decide at some point that you don’t want that tattoo anymore, it will take a laser procedure to get it off, although some kinds of ink are easier to get out of the skin than others.

You must also consider the possibility that although tattooing stretch marks now, your stretch marks might just disappear on their own. Keep in mind also that tattoos, depending on how large they are, are expensive. It might be even more expensive to tattoo over your stretch marks because extra ink might be needed so that the stretch marks might show through the design. So, be sure that you are making the right choice before tattooing stretch marks.
