Currently, laser surgery is one of the most popular methods in the treatment of stretch marks. However, it may be useful to note that laser surgery for stretch marks is not able to remove stretch marks; rather, they help to fade the marks. This may be due to the fact that laser responds to colors of a dark nature, and thus makes it especially useful to effectively treat stretch marks that are dark red or brown in color. It also means that laser surgery for stretch marks would not be as effective when treating stretch marks that are faded or flesh-colored, because they cannot be easily detected by the laser.

One may also get better results with the use of stretch mark creams before as well as after the treatment.
Probably the biggest impediment to getting laser surgery for stretch marks done is the price, but for best results, one must go to a specialized clinic and expect to pay as much as $3000 for the treatment, depending on the number of sessions attended.
